Government promises to spend extra $100 billion on announcements

The much-anticipated 2021 Federal Budget will be announced tonight, but insiders have said that the government will spend most of its budget this year on making announcements.

“We’ve allocated an extra $100 billion on making announcements,” said one insider, denying it has anything to do with the upcoming Federal Election.

“Being front and centre of the camera is key, and we won’t deprive Australians of more photo-ops of their favourite politicians,” says Mr Frydenberg. “We want to make more promises to the public, but we refuse to waste taxpayer dollars on delivering those promises”.

Sources also revealed an extra $100 billion of the budget will be dedicated to empathy training for high-ranking ministers, and up to $15 billion will be spent cum-proofing furniture inside Parliament House.
